Los Andes, a fertile land area, became one of the country's most important communication centers; nowadays it is the main access for argentinian, brazilian, uruguayan and paraguayan citizens. It is located 135 km from Santiago. In this sector and in the Andes mountain range we will find Portillo Winter Resort, which is the oldest in South America, dating back to 1949. It has an infrastructure that allows the enjoyment of Winter sports as well as of the mountains' attractions in Summer. It is noteworthy for the lovely view of Laguna del Inca, located 2800 meters above sea level. According to legend, its quiet emerald-colored water are due to a nice and sad love story between the Inca Illi Yupanqui and princess Kora-llé. The vineyards of San Esteban winery are located in the high part of Aconcagua valley, more than 800 meters. This great influence of the Andes mountain range gives to San Esteban grapes a distinctive nature, together with a careful cellar work allows the obtaining of wines that are marked by their origin.
